Rachael Bergman

Gastroenterologist

I am a Gastroenterologist currently working as a specialist at Auckland City Hospital. I completed my medical degree at Auckland University in 1993 under my maiden name of Brook and went on to work as a House Officer and Registrar in the three public Auckland hospitals. Having completed my Fellowship in 2004, I took up a consultant position at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, UK. Whilst working there I pursued research and a sub-specialist interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).

My practice is in general Gastroenterology and Hepatology with special expertise in IBD and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I pride myself on communication with my patients and medical colleagues. I am happy to discuss referrals or to give general advice via e-mail or phone.

On a personal note I am married with two energetic toddlers who do seem to take priority over my other non-medical interests these days!
