Maggie Chapman-Ow

Biography

Dr Maggie Chapman-Ow is a New Zealand-trained gastroenterologist and hepatologist with extensive experience in both public and private practice. She is a Gastroenterologist at Auckland City Hospital and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medicine at the University of Auckland.

Her clinical interests include bowel cancer screening and surveillance, polyposis syndromes, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, and the assessment and management of liver disease, including viral hepatitis. She performs diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr Chapman-Ow completed advanced research training at the South West Liver Unit in the United Kingdom, where she undertook an MD in the immunology of hepatitis C.

She is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, with a strong focus on safety, clear communication, and ensuring patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident throughout their endoscopy journey.
