Q&A with Ibrahim
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy combining advanced endoscopic techniques with problem-solving to help patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions. It is particularly rewarding when minimally invasive endoscopic treatment can provide an effective alternative to conventional surgery.
What is most important to you when caring for patients?
I believe it is important that patients feel listened to, respected, and well informed about their condition and treatment options. I aim to provide individualised care, explain things clearly, and help patients feel reassured throughout their treatment journey.
How do you help patients feel comfortable during a procedure?
I take time to explain the procedure, address any concerns, and ensure patients understand what to expect. I work closely with the endoscopy team to provide safe, compassionate care and a positive patient experience.
What areas of care are you particularly focused on?
My main focus is advanced and interventional endoscopy, particularly endoscopic resection and third-space procedures. These techniques can offer minimally invasive treatment options for selected gastrointestinal conditions that might otherwise require more invasive surgery.
What do you want patients to know about endoscopy procedures?
Endoscopy allows us to examine the digestive tract and, in many cases, diagnose and treat conditions without the need for conventional surgery. I encourage patients to ask questions and discuss any concerns so they can feel informed and confident about their care.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Spending quality time with my children and keeping active. I enjoy playing soccer, as well as walking and running, which help me maintain a healthy balance alongside a busy professional and family life.
